Recent refurbishments and new builds at the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park include a contemporary condolence centre with three reception areas and a café to be enjoyed by families, visitors and community members.

Dow Styrofoam SMTG extruded polystyrene boards have been used to insulate the metal frame walls and studs of The Condolence Centre to substantially increase the long term R-Value and minimise the harmful effects of thermal cycling of the entire wall assembly.

Condensation can be an issue in steel frame structures. By installing Dow Styrofoam SMTG insulation boards as an exterior envelope not only reduces its severe energy loss but also works as an air barrier solving natural corrosion problems of metal frame structures and extending the building service life.

Dow Styrofoam SMTG has the competitive edge over cavity insulation and non-insulating sheathing. Like all Dow Styrofoam extruded polystyrene insulation, SMTG offers a high R-Value combined with an exceptional resistance to moisture and warping. Its proprietary closed cell structure enables it to defend against all forms of water and water vapour, so it maintains a stable R-Value over time.

The tongue-and-groove edge treatment makes Dow Styrofoam SMTG especially effective against air infiltration, one of the leading causes of energy loss in a building. And with boards that fit snugly against one another, providing a smooth, even surface for the exterior wall cladding and render finish.

The new Condolence Centre will offer families a first class facilities for stress free after funeral care in a comfortable environment.
